I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a poll or polling agency that
may have some information about voting trends in Hungary in 1990 and 1994.
Specifically, I would like to know about any differences between men and
women. I would also be very interested in knowing gender breakdowns of
political party membership, if this info is available.
Please reply to my account, unless you feel this info might be helpful to
others as well. Thank you.

Dear friends,
I read the recent discussion of yours about the cultural differencies sadly.
It seems to me that sometimes it may provoke someone when a fellowhuman makes
a statement on the base of his/her basic belief. Since the homo religionis
and the homo sapiens are inseparatable I do not know what it means to blame
the American Indians for greating people in the name of the Great Ghost.
Accordingly it is my oppinion that if we are dissapointed by the fact that
someone greats us with words taken from the vocabulary of his/her culture we
successfully maintain cultural iniquities this way dissolving all the good
intentions to approach each other.
Almost every religion is based on a basic statement of love- and if we listen
to these we may forget the boundary lines we should overcome anyhow.
Accordingly I see the only chance to live in our global village means mutual
pozitive approaches of different culture representing groups. We should not
forget who we are but taking that as a chance to create fellowhumanity on our
special ways wherever we are.
I hope Gotthard will great me on the day of his holy-days let that be
according to the teaching of Buddha, Mozes, or Mohammad, or other great
teachers of humanity.
Faithfully yours:
Peter

Where the hell do you get off trivializing a holiday that is a part of
the dominant religion of Hungary!! By mentioning Passover in the
contect you have, are you implying that Judaism is somehow more
fundemental to the Culture and history of Hungary than Christianisty?
Jew may be welcome to Hungary as late comers - Jews are not Magyars let
us not forget, though they are Hungarians - but attempts at re-writing
history falsely are the surest way to create a conflict between people,
and for sure the surest way to get a response from me!
Happy Easter!
Happy Passover!

I agree with both Micky and Scott. We are in a sorry state if
we have nothing better to do than getting bent out of shape because
of somebody else's holiday. Hey you guys! We should do much better
than that. Leave all this petty stuff to others, there are enough
of them out there.
Let's shape up,
Amos

LEARN HUNGARIAN THIS SUMMER!
The Center for Language Study at Beloit College offers a nine-week
INTENSIVE course for beginning and intermediate students of
Hungarian. The course is coupled with a survey of Central Europe's
cultural history, and earns fully transferable college credits.
Classes start in early June and end in mid-August.
Learn Hungarian in small classes taught by experienced native
instructors, on a quiet, comfortable and well-equipped campus.
No prerequisites: In past years we enrolled high school students
as well as retirees who wanted to re-kindle their language skills.
Many of our former students have gone to Hungary, either as
graduate students or as English teachers in Beloit's "Teach
Hungary" program.
*** Scholarships are available. ***
The Center also offers courses in Chinese, Czech, Japanese,
Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and ESL for English teachers.

A LI'RIKUS EPILO'GJA
Csak e'n bi'rok versemnek ho"se lenni,
elso" s utolso' mindenik dalomban:
a mindense'get va'gyom versbe venni,
de me'g tova'bb magamna'l nem jutottam.
S ma'r azt hiszem: nincs rajtam ki'vu~l semmi,
de hogyha van is, Isten tudja hogy' van?
Vak dio'ke'nt dio'ban za'rva lenni

Bu"vo~s ko~ro~mbo'l nincsen mo'd kito~rno~m.
Csak nyi'lam szo~khet rajta a't: a va'gy -

E'n maradok: magam sza'ma'ra bo~rto~n,
